About VectorGene

Capability that lasts beyond the engagement.

VectorGene Biotech Limited is a precision medicine and advanced-therapy technology transfer company, headquartered in Hong Kong.

The founding observation

Close the gap.

Most of the world's most important biomedical breakthroughs — precision genomics, CAR-T cell therapy, autologous gene therapy — remain locked inside a small number of high-resource markets. Patients elsewhere either travel overseas at extreme cost, or they go without. We exist to close that gap. Not by selling technology as a product, but by transferring it as a capability.

Mission

Bridge cutting-edge research with real clinical care — enabling genomic diagnostics, cellular therapies, gene therapies and international scientific collaboration that improve outcomes for patients with cancer, inherited diseases and complex conditions, through structured technology transfer, local capacity building and regulatory-aware implementation.

Vision

A globally connected precision medicine ecosystem — so patients worldwide can access advanced diagnostics and next-generation treatments closer to home.

What sets us apart

An implementation partner.

Capability transfer, not product sales
local capacity, not boxes shipped from overseas
China innovation corridor access
direct relationships with leading Chinese genomic, cell and gene therapy institutions, including national-level genome research
Multi-platform breadth
NGS, CAR-T, immune cell therapy, gene therapy, pathogen sequencing, microbiome and organoids under one implementation framework
Regulatory and quality discipline
local validation, ethics review, GMP, clinical governance and quality systems built in, not bolted on
Implementation-focused execution
facility planning, SOPs, batch records, training, validation, clinical workflow, commercialisation
Affordable access mission
localisation is about cost reduction, not convenience

Three connected layers

The partner ecosystem.

Innovation source

Chinese genome & cell therapy network (CHGB)

Exclusive collaboration with the China National Human Genome Center (CHGB), Beijing — a government-affiliated enterprise and one of the largest genome research institutions in Asia.

Specialised biotech

Gene therapy platforms (HemoGen)

Specialised Chinese biotech partners on hemoglobinopathy gene therapy.

Local implementation

Hospitals, governments & research institutions

Implementation-focused, not import-focused — capacity that lasts beyond a single transaction.

Ethical and regulatory principles

Evidence over enthusiasm.

Patient safety
Safety before scale — no programme proceeds without ethics review, clinical governance, adverse-event monitoring and long-term follow-up
Regulatory integrity
Local regulation is the standard — local pathways, never workarounds
Scientific honesty
Evidence over enthusiasm — distinguish approved, investigational and early research; never market unapproved therapies as standard care
Quality systems
GMP and SOP discipline from inception
Confidentiality
Partner data, clinical information and commercial terms never shared without explicit written consent
Long-term stewardship
Capability that outlives the engagement

What lasting capability needs to include.

The practical output of a transfer engagement should be clear enough for an institution to evaluate, retain and operate. Methods and materials need to be considered alongside people, documentation, facility readiness and continuing responsibilities.

WIPO distinguishes IP licences, know-how arrangements, material transfers and research collaborations. Agreements need to reflect the particular technology, permitted uses and responsibilities rather than rely on a universal contract.

WIPO: Technology Transfer Agreements

WHO’s laboratory quality handbook addresses management, administration and bench work together. It provides a foundation for organising a laboratory’s quality system; current accreditation requirements need to be checked separately.

Questions for the programme brief

  1. Define the deliverable

Agree which documents, methods, materials and competencies the institution expects to receive.

  2. Demonstrate readiness

Set evidence-based acceptance milestones for the selected scope, including unresolved gaps.

  3. Maintain capability

Identify continuing support, supply, quality review and change-management responsibilities.

What to prepare for review
  • Proposed transfer scope
  • Acceptance and training requirements
  • Continuity and ownership questions
